Our history began in the early 90s, with the goal of becoming one of the main papaya producers in Mexico. Throughout the years, our focus has been to generate a positive impact on all our stakeholders through high-quality products and services.

1990
Cigarrera La Moderna

Due to a diversification strategy, several crops were planted: chile, melon, watermelon and papaya.

1997
Agromod

Oficially established with three business lines: Papaya, InVitro and Bambú.

1999
Experimental Operations

Experimental plantations in Veracruz, Campeche, Yucatán, San Luis and central Chiapas, seeking better conditions and/or proximity to the market.

2006
Agromod Produce

Founded in USA to satisfy market needs and export.

2007
Agrocarica

Founded in Monterrey, Nuevo León to attend national market.

2011
Salmonella outbreak in the US

First salmonella outbreak linked to Agromod papayas. Since then, we have focused on having the best practices and have become a benchmark for safety in the industry.

Protected agriculture

First advances in production with protected environments.

Rethinking Strategy

Abandon other regions to focus production in the surroundings of Tapachula, Chiapas.

After producing the Maradol variety for more than 20 years, the first commercial plantations of new hybrids are made.
